My mate sent me this photo the other day.

It’s from a few years ago. We were driving through France and somehow managed to stack the car onto the curb on the roundabout. A funny memory, but more interesting was how the photo popped up again. He happened to be looking through his past emails for something in particular concerning a bloke with the same first name as my dad. I’d sent him an email with that picture in from my dad’s email address and pop… up it came.
It made me consider what we’re doing these days. Adding our lives to the cloud. The cloud is the concept that all our data, emails, photos and shit somehow live out there in internet world (called the cloud). It kind of freaks me out a bit. we’re leaving behind us this massive digital record of our life & times…. but for whom? I have this vague notion of a bearded, wild eyed nutter in some kind post-apocolyptic afterlife sitting in front of a screen going through our emails hundreds of years from now shaking his head at our banal mentalness. Then fighting off a 6 foot cockroach with a tire iron.
